AAFT ADDYs 2011
The AAFT ADDY award ceremony was held at the historic Fox Theatre on February 19th. Crown Chimp was one of the top winners of the night, taking home a total of 5 ADDYS for the 5 entries we submitted. 2 GOLDs for our adidas short film, 1 GOLD for this very website here, and 2 SILVERs for our Clinch Gear short film. Special thank yous to our casts, our crews and our very supportive clients.

We Made The Top 50
We were pumped out of our minds to learn we made the list for an article on the Top 50 Sports Commercials of all time. Twice. "I Am a Wrestler" was number 44 and "6 Minutes" was number 32. We were the only wrestling pieces to make their list. And we're pretty positive we were also the cheapest pieces to make the list! Thank you to Muscle Prodigy for your recognition of our work and the sport.

Supporting Our Troops
We recently were honored with the project to create a Thank You/Tribute film to the Armed Forces- past and present. The piece was conceptualized, shot and cut over the course of 5 states and 10 days. Thank you to Shark Fights for commissioning out this project to us.

Adidas National Lacrosse Classic
Crown Chimp went down to Baltimore to shoot footage for a documentary on the Adidas National Lacrosse Classic. We'll be cutting this footage into an NFL Films style piece used to show how freaking awesome lacrosse is.

We went to Orlando this past weekend to accept our National Addy Award for "6 Minutes". It truly was an honor to be presented with this award- especially since other winners included Old Spice, Halo ODST, BBDO, Ogilvy and even Don Draper. Well, maybe not Draper.

Crown Chimp Makes District Gold - Goes National!
After winning 2 GOLD Addys (and one SILVER) at the AAFT level, Crown Chimp won a GOLD and SILVER Addy at the District 12 level. Obtaining this award puts Crown Chimp at the National Addy competition. The National Addy Ceremony gala will be held in Orlando, Florida - June 10th, 2010. A big thanks to everyone involved with the "6 Minutes" project for Brute-adidas. Florida, here we come!

We went to the booming city of Miami, Arizona to film this music video for fiddle player Bill Bell. The shoot was not the easiest (pouring rain, dodging trains, haunted hotels and wacky meth heads), but it was one of the funnest. Hope you enjoy.

Addy Awards!
We took home 2 Gold Addy Awards for our adidas spot in the Cinematography and Web Video categories and 1 Silver Addy Award for our non-profit work for Project Dor Habah. Not bad, especially since we only entered three categories this year. Congrats to us! Congrats to our clients!

We just finished two new music videos for hip hop group, The Country Boys (album 21863 is available on iTunes.) "Down That Road" is a wholesome love story set in an unwholesome world and "Deadly Silhouette" is an homage to early 90's rap videos. We recently did videos for the American Advertising Federation's "Battle of the Ads II" event documenting the creative process of three creative teams. It was fun a project and the teams did some great work for 3 local non-profits.

Two Completely Different Short Films
Crown Chimp is in the middle of post-production on two short films- both starring the lovely and talented Elizabeth DeVries. One is a poignant drama about an aging actress realizing her dreams passed her by and the other is a genre-skipping story about a woman who lost her shoe. Don't bother looking for the connection between the two.

Reid Park Zoo PSA
We are more than excited to announce we are currently shooting a documentary/PSA for the Reid Park Zoo to promote awareness for the new elephant exhibit- Expedition Tanzania! We're also pretty excited that a segment will feature Jack Hannah. That's right, Jack Hannah.
