Nickolas Duarte for Anthem
DIRECTOR’S NOTE
Dear mcgarrybowen Team,
Thank you for taking the time to review and consider my work for the upcoming Anthem spot.
This is some of the most beautiful copy I’ve read in such a long time. It is grounded and aspirational which is such a difficult tone to hit. It reminds me of the work of the poet Philip Levine. I LOVED the rip reel as well. I think it will be the perfect north star for this piece. I’m really excited about telling these slices and collaborating with the creative team to find the best way to bring these words to life.
I’ve spent the last two years studying under Ryan Murphy’s company and some of the best writers at Warner Brothers. I feel confident that with those experiences I can help find the perfect images and mini-stories to make the spot connect on a deeply human level.
I will happily make myself available if you folks would like to chat more. Best of luck in the director search!
Nickolas Duarte
